Manjis Sarkar

Manjis ( nick name Publu ), an introvert boy , was a voracious reader . At the time of accident Manjis was a student of class – VIII of South Point High School , Kolkata. His multifarious interest included literature to Automobile engineering. He was a very calm and quiet boy and his friends and teachers used to say that whatever be the circumstances he would never fail to help his friends. With a book in his hand he became oblivious to the entire world. From Tennyson to J.K. Rowling, from Roald Dahl to Agatha Christie , from Classic Motorbikes to modern car safety measures like ABS , from automatic transmission to how the chemicals in an Air Bag react at the time of collision – his interest in subjects was a very versatile one. In a letter written for his English tutorial the 13 yrs old 5ft 8 inch tall boy wrote about his ambition to study Automobile Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology ( IIT ) and he wrote about his target of inventing a cheap version of an Engine so that Automobile could reach within the ambit of common people also. He was a great music lover and could sing easily even the classical based tunes also. The boy who was a very good swimmer was very fond of Swiming also. In the year 2010 the boy with outstanding General Knowledge grabbed a bag of Prize from the Toyota car company in a quiz contest organized by the Car company in his school.

Just three days before the Accident date the boy told his mother that he wanted to go to Oxford and he wanted to do research on Lake Poets.
